Chloe is used as leverage against Reign. She pays the price — and remembers it.
**FADE IN:**

**INT. PARKING GARAGE - NIGHT**

Reign walks to her car, alone. Headlights flash. A black sedan screeches to a halt, blocking her exit. DET. VANCE gets out, his silhouette menacing.

VANCE
Reign. That’s what they call you, right? The Queen.

REIGN
I don't know you.

VANCE
I know you. And I know you just paid a visit to my associate, the Mayor. You see, he pays me for protection. From people like you.

He steps closer, invading her space.

VANCE (CONT'D)
So now, you’re going to pay me. A tax. For the privilege of operating in my city.

Reign doesn’t flinch. A small, dangerous smile plays on her lips.

REIGN
You think this is your city? You think you're the wolf? You're just a dog on a leash, and you don't even see the hand that holds it.

She gets in her car, starts the engine, and revs it loudly. Vance stands his ground.

REIGN (CONT'D)
You should have stayed in the dark, Detective. It was safer there.

She expertly maneuvers her car around his, tires squealing, and disappears into the night. Vance stands there, fuming, humiliated. His phone rings. It’s Jonathan.

JONATHAN (V.O.)
(strained)
Reign? We need to talk. I’m back.

ECU on Vance’s face. A slow, predatory smile spreads across his lips. He sees a new way in.

**SMASH CUT TO BLACK.**

**ON SCREEN TEXT: JONATHAN IS BACK. BUT IS HE ALONE?**
